Climate and Weather
Climate of the Provence Alpes Côte d'Azur The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur enjoys a Mediterranean climate. Temperatures are mild and rain is rare (take care to storms that have been quick to inflate the Torres if you enjoy swimming in the mountains). But much more than the mild temperatures, the brightness is exceptional throughout the year, which makes the real difference. Painters are not deceived and writers have rented the region. You can find weather forecasts in the region Provence Alpes Côte d'Azur on the site of Meteo France. Spring offers wonderful moments. The days are less dry and the rains are abundant, but sometimes short-lived. The nature awakens, fields and gardens are green and their highlights. Soon these same fields become straw yellow in the sun this summer. In the Bouches du Rhône, the mistral blows most often from March to May which clears the clouds and make the sky a clear blue. The beautiful days are not uncommon, especially in May. SummerIn summer, prefer to live as indigenous people. Do not venture under the hot sun from mid day. Keep spinning those hours in the shade of trees and you do not enjoy swimming more than when the air and water are at the same temperature. Temperatures often exceed the 30 ° C in mid-day in the countryside of Provence and along the Mediterranean coast. The nights are pleasant (around 20 °). You will enjoy the gentle numerous festivals and fireworks that are held in evenings. In the Southern Alps, the valleys are warm but the air becomes cooler with height. Nice there are many who profit from the summer to get green in the back country. As on the coast, sunshine and blue skies dominate. Autumn Early autumn, after the tourist season this summer, is assessed by its relative calm. The days are still beautiful but the heat has passed. It's the perfect time to discover the hinterland with its forests in the colours of Indian summer. Winter The winter season is cold and often cloudy. In the plains and along the coast, temperatures can vary from -10 ° to 10 ° C or 15 ° C to 20 days of sunshine with no wind. The Mistral, a cold wind from the north (in the Rhone Valley), releases the sky cloud but quickly lowered the temperature. In the mountains, temperatures are frequently negative and snow is often abundant. | |
