Climate and Weather

The Poitou-Charentes in the New Aquitaine region, located in the south west of France is renowned for having one of the most pleasant climates in France along with the French Riviera although normally not as hot. Winters are really mild and thanks to the oceanic climate, summers are hot but not muggy!
Poitou-Charentes is lined along its western side by the Atlantic Ocean. As a result Poitou-Charentes soaks in the sweetness of the ocean climate which creates a micro-climate on the coast.

We are at the edge of the village surrounded by calmness, fields and some other properties. Only 350 meters from the Salles des Civadeaux where many weddings receptions are held and exhibitions etc. There are good walks locally through farms and woodland. The 22 kilometer old rail track from Le Queroy to Souffrignac is ideal for walking and cycling. [+]

Once upon a time …there were three friends who, in 1969, created a festival in Angoulême to celebrate the Comic Strip or Bande Dessinée (bd) in French. Year by year, the event gathered momentum until in January 1974, the International Comic Strip Festival was born. All the main industry players were there, the press came, and the public – more than 10, 000 people across three days. Angoulême, capital of the Comic Strip, was suddenly in the spotlight !
